Hi. I was wondering, and I know the odds are slim, if anyone has seen the video for Bjork's song "Isobel" by this French guy Michel Gondry. If anyone could give me some idea how they believe it was done I would be extremely grateful. The following is a link to a page that has a quicktime version of the video: http://www.bjork.com/unity/ The song is not that great but I find the look of the video simply amazing. Anyway, I know this is an oddball question but the folks on this board seem to know some pretty esoteric stuff about film.

Money, and lots of it...
Probably over 300 thousand dollars, to as much as a million dollars.
Then a lot of the effects are done in post-production on Non-Linear Editing Suites.
Most if not all of the effects could be done on a relatively inexpensive but HIGH QUALITY non-linear system.
However, the cutting image effects and ideas cost lots of money...and are done QUICKLY.
Project in, Project out.
The home-studio guy could make something similar to this music video, but it could take them many months to complete.
So there is room for both the high-end video-editing places that add some new whiz-bang editing concept to the production, turnaround the project quickly....and charge a lot of money,
...and there is room for the low-cost, in my home "I won't give up until I get it right" creator.
Forced perspective shots can either be done in post, or by having a really big space to shoot in and having your scenery and props specially created to fit a look or feel.
I downloaded the high quality version....
I did find it profoundly amazing that the border around the picture was brighter than the image....THIS IS A MISTAKE.
....all eyes on the moving image please....please make the border around the moving image.....DARK!
